Privacy Policy
← Back to the vaultLast updated: 19 July 2026
The Vault (“we”, “the game”) is a free daily puzzle game available at vault-day.vercel.app. This policy explains what data we handle and why. We keep it minimal on purpose: there are no user accounts and we do not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to play.
Data stored on your device
Your progress — streak, statistics, collected treasures, language, and sound and consent preferences — is stored only in your browser’s local storage on the device you play on. It never leaves your device, we cannot see it, and clearing your browser data erases it. A random device identifier is generated locally to keep your own stats consistent; it is not linked to your identity and is not sent to us.
Analytics
We use analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example, how many people play or share). This may include Google Analytics, which sets cookies and processes usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. Google Analytics data is handled under Google’s privacy terms. We may also use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that do not track individuals.
Advertising
On the results screen we may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. You can control ad personalization, and where required by law we serve only non-personalized ads unless you consent to personalized ones via our cookie banner.

Your choices & consent
On your first visit we ask for your cookie/ads preference (accept all, non-personalized ads only, or decline). No advertising scripts load until you make a choice, and you can reopen and change it any time via “Cookie choices” in the footer. You can also clear all locally-stored data by clearing your browser storage for this site.
Your rights & data retention
Because we hold no accounts and no personal data on our servers, most data-protection rights are self-service: the progress and preferences on your device can be inspected in your browser’s storage and erased at any time by clearing that storage. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data relating to you, and to object to or withdraw consent for processing. To exercise any of these, email us at tsuter5@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
We do not retain personal data ourselves: on-device data persists until you clear it, and we keep no server-side copy. Data processed by Google Analytics and Google AdSense is retained and handled under Google’s own terms and retention settings, not ours.
Children
The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the game evolves; the date above reflects the latest version. For any privacy question, contact us at tsuter5@gmail.com.
